R & B star Chris Brown performed a tribute to Michael Jackson at the BET Awards on Sunday, June 27. The 21-year-old carried out some killer dance moves and put on a four-minute medley of the King of Pop’s greatest hits.
Wow, Brown should win an Emmy for those tears! While performing his last song, “Man In The Mirror” the Rihanna beater, broke down in tears…He literally fell to the floor sobbing, while the audience cheered him on and helped him finish the song. How ironic? The song couldn’t be any more fitting, has he finally realized that his career may not make a comeback? Or does he truly miss Michael Jackson? Just last year, Brown was sentenced to five years probation and six months of community service after assaulting his ex-girlfriend Rihanna.
Well, what do you think? Do you think his performance was all about him, or was it truly for Michael Jackson?
Amidst all the exciting wedding plans for Katy Perry and her comedian fiancée, Russell Brand, there is one thing that has yet to be checked off the list. The “I Kissed a Girl” singer would like her good friend, Rihanna to strip naked for her at her bachelorette party.
In an interview on Chicago’s 103.4 Kiss radio show, Perry revealed she is expecting her gal pal to come through for her wish saying, “I want her to strip at my bachelorette party.” Rihanna is actually the one responsible for hosting the naughty girl’s night out, but actually didn’t know about plans for her to get naked at the party she’s hosting. Perry said, “She’s gonna get the message right now,” and added that Rihanna is “hot” and wants her to show off the whole bit for the occasion.
The bar couldn’t really be set higher for Rihanna’s upcoming album. Def Jam A&R executive, Bu Thiam, has high expectations for the Barbados native, saying her new record could be legendary. Thiam boasts, “I’m trying to push her to where every song will be a hit from 1 to 12. I’m talking about NO album fillers,” telling Vibe.com, “Our bar for this album is Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller.’”
In order to achieve these standards, Rihanna has collaborations with Ne-Yo, The Drea, Stargate, Ester Dean, Mel & Mus, and Rock City. Thiam added, “It’s already giving me the feel of a timeless album, and right now is her time.” What do you think? Is this a reachable standard?
While Rihanna is in high demand, and her career is mostly chaotic, her boyfriend, Matt Kemp, brings peace and tranquility to the 22-year-old singer. “I’m so happy. I feel really comfortable, and it’s so easy,” Rihanna says of her relationship with the LA Dodgers outfielder.
In July’s issue of Elle magazine, Rihanna explains she enjoys having someone to relax with, saying “I have such a chaotic life, but at the end of the day, that is just my peace. It keeps me sane, really, talking to him and talking to my family.”
It was a little over a year ago that Rihanna and ex-beau, Chris Brown, broke up after he assaulted her. “A year ago, I was very confused,” the ‘Rehab’ singer admitted, “Because he was my best friend. All of a sudden, one night changed our whole lives - not only our friendship, but our lives.”
Although she doesn’t regret moving on with Kemp, “I wanted to wake up one day and just not have that pain anymore. I wanted to be with him again or get over him… it was either or. I just didn’t want to feel the pain, the confusion.” It’s nice to see Rihanna is in a solid relationship with her new man, meanwhile Chris Brown is being denied international visas.
LMAO! Chris Brown arrived in the UK only to be turned down at customs because of the right of refusal. The infamous R&B singer was set to begin his UK tour in Glasgow, Scotland, but instead will have to re-arrange those tour dates for when he is welcome in the UK… if ever again.
The “Forever” singer, was denied his visa to enter the country on an authoritative decision based on his sentence for assaulting ex-girlfriend, Rihanna, almost a year and a half ago. According to Brown’s website, the tour has been postponed “due to unforeseen circumstances.”
However, according to Britain’s Home Office, “We reserve the right to refuse entry to the UK to anyone guilty of a serious criminal offence. Public safety is one of our primary concerns. Each application to enter the UK is considered on its individual merits.” Oh, and the UK doesn’t want to be responsible for initiating Chris Brown’s unlikely comeback.
