What a breath of fresh air this is for California courts! A celebrity is actually taking responsibility for their misjudgment and cooperating with authorities. American Pie actor, Chris Klein, has willingly served the 96 hours in the slammer for his second DUI arrest. Additionally, Klein spent two months at an in-patient rehab facility and extended his stay on his own accord.

The 31-year-old appeared at the Van Nuys, California court where he pleaded no contest to the DUI charges. Klein was sentenced to four years on probation, 18 months of alcohol education classes and fines. In court, the actor told Judge David B. Gelfound, “I apologize for my wrongdoing and I really appreciate that the court gave me the opportunity to prove how seriously I took all of this.”

There was a required minimum jail sentence of 4 days for Klein’s repeat offense, which he voluntarily served at a private city jail. As a result of this mistake, Chris will also have an interlock device installed preventing him from starting the ignition of his car if alcohol is present on his breath.

Klein’s attorney, Blair Berk, told PEOPLE, “Chris took immediate responsibility for what he did and has used this experience in such a positive way to get help to confront and addiction to alcohol,” adding, “He deserves enormous credit for stepping up and getting it done.” Unlike another celebrity facing DUI probation troubles … not to mention names Lindsay Lohan.

That didn’t last long!  Train wreck star, Lindsay Lohan has been released from Lynwood Correctional Facility after serving 13 days of a 90-day sentence for violating probation on a 2007 conviction for driving under the influence.   Wow, must be nice to be a celebrity.  I am sure she learned her lesson this time…

“The court order specified that certain named people would pick her up. It’s our understanding she went directly to a treatment center,” said sheriff’s spokesperson, Steve Whitmore,  adding that, “when an inmate is released, they leave with the clothes they came in. She was given two huge bags full of mail and books. She was noticeably moved by the amount of mail and books sent to her. She thanked everybody as she left.”

She will now be serving three months at the UCLA Medical Center to begin her rehab treatment for her addiction to amphetamines and bipolar disorder.  The initial plan was to send her directly to Morningside Recovery, though there were many concerns that it wouldn’t be a safe environment for LiLo.  Hah! After an incident that took place on the French Island of Corsica, Paris Hilton is probably wondering what everyone else is smoking. Reports have said the hotel heiress was detained after authorities found marijuana in her purse.

According to the Corse-Matin newspaper, Hilton was making her way to Sardinia, Italy when she was stopped at Figari airport after arriving. The 29-year-old was then released without charge.

It didn’t take long for the story to hit mainstream, and Paris later tweeted, “Just to put an end to these rumors. The stories saying I have been arrested are completely false! I am having the best vacation of my life! What an amazing summer! I feel so blesses and grateful for everything. I Love Life!! Now let’s move on and everyone focus and enjoy their own summer time!”

After a fun filled day in Sardinia, Hilton tweeted, “Just finished shopping in town at Prada, Versace, Roberto Cavalli and some really cute little boutiques. Back to the yacht for movie night!” How fun!? Paris won’t let a lousy rumor rain on her shopping parade!

Wow Lindsay…have you finally realized that it’s time for detox?

According to recent reports, train wreck star Lindsay Lohan who is ordered to report to jail in 5 days, has checked herself into a Hollywood, California sober-living house.   She was spotted yesterday entering the facility with mom, Dina and on-again, off-again girlfriend,  Sam Ronson.

Apparently the clinic is owned by her new lawyer, Robert Shapiro who plans on convincing Judge Marsha Revel to dismiss her sentence entirely or help reduce her 90-day jail sentence.

“Why is that I had to cry from the mountain for Lindsay to listen to me, and now finally she is doing what I said?  I just pray they implement everything else I said, like getting Lindsay clean of all meds, picking all new friends and management, and that Dina put her motives aside and she go to counseling with Lindsay and me,” says Michael Lohan.

Taking some time away from it all, Charlie Sheen’s future ex wife, Brooke Mueller, is having a wonderful time. Mueller’s rep confirmed, “We spoke yesterday. She’s doing great,” adding, “Just this week she went sailing and had dinner with her kids. We expect her to be back within the next couple weeks. No rehab, no falling off the wagon.”

That’s good news for the troubled Hollywood wife. Two weeks ago, Mueller voluntarily entered  a stress-management program, sparking allegations she was off to rehab once again for her substance-abuse issues.

A Mueller family member told E! News, Brooke ventured off with her twin sons, a nanny and a “sober coach” to a coastal rental property in California. “Brooke just needed to get away because she’s being bombarded by everybody with what’s going on with Charlie,” the source said, “It’s driving Brooke crazy.” Interesting, we were always under the impression that crazy lived there.

The family source added, “I don’t think either one of them are talking about whether they are getting back together or not right now. I think it all depends on what happens with this court case, he’s pretty bitter about it. That’s why Brooke wanted to get everything in place.” That’s right, Brooke wanted to make sure she didn’t get a dime less than Denise Richards when Charlie goes off to jail. The divorce papers are in place, but have not been filed.
