The Daily Stew wanted to wish you a safe and happy Cinco De Mayo!  According to reports, Cinco De Mayo makes the top ten for the most drunken holidays.

Today we help celebrate the anniversary of an 1862 battle between an under-armed, Mexican army against a well-armed French Army which was led by Napoleon III.  Can you guess who won?  Ding…ding, ding, ding! The under-armed Mexican army won, hence the celebration.

So grab a beer, a shot of tequila and your sombrero and get ready to party.

The mega-movie-star, Matt Damon, and his wife Luciana are expecting their third child together in addition to their two daughters, Isabella and Gia, and Alexia who is Luciana’s daughter from a previous marriage. The 34-year-old, Luciana, is set to welcome their newborn sometime in the fall. A rep for Damon confirmed the news saying, “Everybody’s really happy.”

Damon’s close friend, George Clooney, praises Damon saying he is a “phenomenal” father and “he absolutely adores those kids. He’s doing it really well.” How does he do it? The ‘Bourne Supremacy’ star says, “It’s pretty easy to kind of lose your way… having kids is really helpful,” Damon told Parade Magazine. “They kind of disabuse you of the notion of your greatness pretty quickly. There’s a routine that you get in to with kids that precludes you from going back to your single days.”

Damon quietly tied the knot with Luciana at New York City Hall back in December 2005 and credits his children for keeping him grounded in Hollywood. Regarding his wife (the super mom) and his daughters, Damon gushed, “My wife is a very wise and a very thoughtful person. Hopefully, they’ll inherit that.” Awww.

Actors Ben Affleck and Matt Damon have always been close but it turns out the two buddies are actually distant cousins.

The New England Historic Genealogical Society revealed that the good friends are actually 10th cousins once removed. Affleck and Damon share a common 10th great-grandfather, William Knowlton of Ipswich. Ipsich was a bricklayer who died in 1655.

“We suspected they might be related since both of them had ancestry going back to colonial New England,” said geneologist Chris Child, who did the research along with colleague Rhonda McClure .

Matt and Ben are related on their fathers’ side, said McClure.

George Clooney has a type, and brunettes with an ability to carry more than one alcoholic beverage at a time appear to be at the top of his list. The two-time Sexiest Man Alive, who split from Las Vegas cocktail waitress Sarah Larson in May, was supposedly spied eyeing one of her London peers last week.

Sources claim that Clooney, who’s still saddled with a suaveness-sapping, role-required dejected caterpillar on his upper lip, was chatting up a “pretty and petite” dark-haired drink-slinger at nightclub Whiskey Mist. Word is, he met her on a previous trip to town and went to the hot spot in hopes of seeing her.

“George arrived at the bar at midnight and went straight to talk and drink with a brunette behind the bar,” according to a source. “He looked very happy and was polite to the long line of female admirers who came up to talk to him.”

In between getting his flirt on, George also did some good while he was in London, raising a reported $14 million with a star-packed soiree that attracted the likes of Matt Damon, Scarlett Johansson, Bono, Guy Ritchie and Cindy Crawford. The funds are earmarked for his humanitarian-oriented Not on Our Watch charity, which he started with Damon and fellow “Oceans” buddies Brad Pitt and Don Cheadle.

Matt Damon reveals why he took a decision to take a break from his A-list day job for some time, which extends upto the end of the year.

“I took time off from acting until the end of the year to be with my family and enjoy our new daughter,” Matt said at a rally promoting Barack Obama in Florida. “But it is my responsibility to thank the American people for taking an interest in the political process. And in the next two days, I am asking them not to get complacent,” he added on the necessity of voting.

Matt and his lovely wife Luciana welcomed a beautiful baby girl this August - Gia. The couple already had two kids - Isabella, two years old, and Alexa, who is Luciana’s child from a former relationship.
