Anne ‘hath a way’ to do it in style, indeed! Promoting her hit comedy flick Get Smart and having to deal with the break-up (allright, she did the dumping, but it still hurts) at the same time would have been excruciatingly tough for her. Her class shone through in this difficult time.

The Princess of Genovia has finally transformed. Her demeanor was far from the end-of-the-world reaction exhibited by most celebs in her position.  Not only did she put out some elegant dresses to burn her ex, she also managed a lovely new hairstyle.

The grapevine has also suggested that her appearance with her Get Smart co-actor, the recently-divorced Rock (and that too when she’s showing more than a lot of leg) is sure to hit her ex right where it hurts the most.

While Paris Hilton has managed to stray clear of any negative publicity of late, her Simple Life co-star and buddy, Nicole Richie, is not doing as well.

Nicole had to be escorted out of the Hard Rock Hotel by security as she was allegedly involved in an altercation with another female while standing in line. The incident took place early on Sunday morning, around 1 a.m.

Apparently Nicole got so wild that security had to be called in to take her off Hotel property. She was partying there along with her boyfriend, the rest of Good Charlotte and Carey Hart.

Update:

Nicole’s rep was quick in giving out a statement: “She was in Vegas but there wasn’t an altercation of any kind involving her.”

The enigma with Jennifer Aniston is that people tend to either love her or think she’s an absolute wreck, and apparently I’m one of the few people that are in between. All that said, everyone has moments of irrationality - and Jen had a pretty public one the other night. While backstage at boyfriend John Mayer’s Hard Rock Calling gig in London’s Hyde Park, Aniston spied Kimberly Stewart hanging out. Kim’s the daughter of Rod Stewart and is generally known for… er… hanging out.

John clearly has a bit of history with the model as all hell broke loose when clingy Jen spotted 28-year-old Kim backstage while John was warming up. Ever the gent, John tried to defuse the situation by getting his security to boot out Kim. And as the bouncers chased after Kim, Jen, 39, eyeballed her rival to warn her off John.

According to the Mirror, Aniston ordered Kim banished from the backstage area – and Kim refused to listen. “Kim was pulled off the stage and escorted through the Hard Rock VIP tent with a face like thunder, shouting: ‘Why doesn’t he want me here? Is this because of her?’ “She totally embarrassed herself, but Jen looked relieved.”

I don’t think anyone came out of that situation looking good. Aniston looks jealous and crazy, Stewart looks like a pathetic moron for sticking around until she was forced about by security, and Mayer looks whipped. Although frankly, that’s not really the worst situation for him to be in, considering the way he seems to use and go through women.

News of a divorce between Madonna and Guy Ritchie has been doing the rounds of late. Guy Ritchie’s perceptibly anguished mother, Lady Amber Leighton, has decided to correct all the errant rumours.

She told the U.K.’s Daily Mail, “Guy will be furious at me for talking to you, but I feel I can’t just let these reports go unanswered, as they make me so angry and they are hurtful intrusions into their private lives.”

It is but natural that Lady Leighton is protective about her son and doesn’t want the whole world to be mired in discussions surrounding his marriage.

“Like other couples, they work at keeping their relationship happy and fresh and they are a close and loving couple who have a family to bring up.” The rumour picked up as Madonna is planning her world tour in New York and Guy’s staying back in London, but his mother insists, “That is not a couple splitting up. I’ll say it one more time, they are not getting divorced; the speculation is TT — that’s total tosh.”

I say a ‘Mum always knows best’. Although my belief was shaken a little by the fact that both of them were clicked by Paparazzi and neither was sporting their wedding ring. Watch this space for more.

Can anyone say no to a dazzling 8-carat diamond ring? Uma Thurman definitely couldn’t, and is now engaged to her Swiss boyfriend, Arpad Busson. The fact that he is rolling in money not withstanding, Busson and Thurman share a special bond, according to a friend of the Kill Bill star.

Uma has been married to Gary Oldman and Ethan Hawke in the past, while Busson was earlier engaged to Aussie hottie Elle Macpherson.

They have not yet finalized a date for the wedding, however, I do believe congratulations are in order.
