Eddie Murphy, better known as Detective Foley from Beverly Hills Cop or as the voice of ‘Donkey’ from Shrek, triggered retirement rumors as he hinted at shifting to stand-up comedy.

The Norbit star told Extra, .Thirty years and I have close to 50 movies and it is like, .Why am I in the movies? I.ve done that part now. I.ll go back to the stage and do stand-up..

Apparently he was offered a seven-digit figure by the movie studio in question. Wonder why?

Murphy quashed the retirement rumors later and even hinted at bringing out another sequel to the Beverly Hills Cop series.
