After more than ten years of being separated from his estranged wife, Playboy mogul Hugh Hefner says he waited to complete his divorce “because of the children.”

“Now is the time,” Hefner told the Associated Press of making his divorce final to former Playmate of the Year, Kimberly Conrad Hefner. Hefner’s twin boys are now about to turn 18.

“I stayed married not because it was a marriage — the marriage ended in 1998,” Hefner told AP. “I stayed because she wanted me to.”

The Associated Press, citing court documents, reports that Hefner is seeking to pay $20,000 of monthly spousal support to Kimberly Hefner, half of what he’s reportedly been paying since 1998.

Last month, Kimberly Hefner sued the Playboy mogul for $4 million that she claims she is owed according to the pair’s prenuptial agreement, the AP reports. Citing court documents obtained by the AP, Hefner states he has paid his estranged wife, whom he married in 1989, nearly $12 million.

Nearly one week after news broke that Jon and Kate Gosselin filed for divorce — Jon Gosselin stepped out without wearing his wedding ring.

Jon and his now-estranged wife Kate have eight children together.

They announced their split on their hit TLC show, “Jon & Kate Plus 8″ — an episode that earned the network ratings gold.

The news on the grapevine is that Usher has filed for divorce from Tameka Foster after not quite two years of marriage.

“No one I’ve spoken to is surprised,” an insider tells People magazine. “As bad as this is gonna sound, it was never a matter of ‘I wonder if they’ll divorce,’ but more like ‘I wonder WHEN they’ll divorce.’”

Seems the estranged couple, who have two sons, Usher Raymond V, 18 months, and Naviyd, 6 months, started having problems not long after their elaborate September 2007 knot-tying, a ceremony that took place a few weeks after they abruptly called off their original “I do”s.

Sean Penn is no longer divorcing wife Robyn Wright Penn. The “Milk” actor - who filed for separation from Robyn last month, after 13 years of marriage - asked California’s Marin County Superior Court to dismiss the case yesterday.

Sean said: “It was an arrogant mistake.”

Madonna returned to England the day before Christmas Eve - for the first time since the couple split. She met her husband in London to hand over their sons. Minutes later he headed for the £10 million Ashcombe House estate, which he has taken ownership of as part of their divorce settlement. The boys and Guy enjoyed a traditional family Christmas, while Madonna and Lourdes remained in London. The singer does not celebrate the holiday.

On Boxing Day Guy returned his sons to Madonna, before picked up David to take him to the Kabbalah centre. The two then joined the rest of the family at Madonna.s house and Guy was not seen leaving until the next day. After returning to his flat to freshen up yesterday he then made his way to the Kabbalah centre, where he was joined by the rest of the family.
