Looks like the ultimate ladies’ man, Charlie Sheen, will avoid jail time all together for the assault charges on Christmas Day in Aspen. Also, the Two and Half Men star will not be required to do public service in the Aspen community.
Pleading guilty to misdemeanor third-degree assault, dropped two other more serious charges including a felony charge of menacing. The sentencing Sheen received was 30 days in a rehab facility, 30 days of probation and 36 hours of anger management.
Sheen had a 30 day deadline to make arrangements at Promises Treatment Center in California, however whether he attends remains in limbo. According to Sheen’s attorney, Yale Galanter, Charlie has already spent 93 days at the facility since the new year and could possibly credit that time toward his sentence. Galanter said, “Credit for time served is absolutely on the table. How much credit he gets is up to Promises.”
In a statement after his hearing and receiving sentencing, Sheen said, “I’m very grateful to the court and to the people of Pitkin County. I look forward to complying with the court’s decision, getting on with my life and putting this behind me.”
Taking some time away from it all, Charlie Sheen’s future ex wife, Brooke Mueller, is having a wonderful time. Mueller’s rep confirmed, “We spoke yesterday. She’s doing great,” adding, “Just this week she went sailing and had dinner with her kids. We expect her to be back within the next couple weeks. No rehab, no falling off the wagon.”
That’s good news for the troubled Hollywood wife. Two weeks ago, Mueller voluntarily entered a stress-management program, sparking allegations she was off to rehab once again for her substance-abuse issues.
A Mueller family member told E! News, Brooke ventured off with her twin sons, a nanny and a “sober coach” to a coastal rental property in California. “Brooke just needed to get away because she’s being bombarded by everybody with what’s going on with Charlie,” the source said, “It’s driving Brooke crazy.” Interesting, we were always under the impression that crazy lived there.
The family source added, “I don’t think either one of them are talking about whether they are getting back together or not right now. I think it all depends on what happens with this court case, he’s pretty bitter about it. That’s why Brooke wanted to get everything in place.” That’s right, Brooke wanted to make sure she didn’t get a dime less than Denise Richards when Charlie goes off to jail. The divorce papers are in place, but have not been filed.
Seriously Charlie Sheen do you not learn from your mistakes? Something smells fishy… According to recent reports, the “Two and a Half Men” star’s car was found at the bottom of a cliff near his Sherman Oaks home…again! This is the second time in 4 months the exact same thing has happened to him.
Police responded to a call around 3AM, that a car had been ditched along the 13,300 block of Mulholland Drive. No one was found inside the silver Mercedes-Benz, but when the fire crews responded they found the engine running and the keys inside the ignition. We’re told Charlie left his keys in the ignition, parked in his drive way in a gated community, while he went inside his home. Wait…isn’t he supposed to be in jail? He has filed a stolen vehicle report, but the investigation remains ongoing.
Can someone say insurance scam?
The highest paid television star, Charlie Sheen, is set to plead guilty to misdemeanor charges for his arrest in Aspen on Christmas day regarding the assault of his wife, Brooke Mueller. Honestly, no one knows whose story to believe anymore because they were both drunk and high on coke. So Charlie did what every celeb would’ve done in his situation and has copped a plea deal and he faces up to 45 day in jail.
As part of the deal, Sheen’s felony menacing charge will be dropped. Sheen is required to appear at court in Aspen on June 7 to enter the plea which will cancel the trial scheduled for June 21. One authority said, “Sheen’s going to be an Aspen resident for a little while. His legal representatives didn’t want to risk him going to prison and thought it best to resolve the case now… Aspen is a lot more desirable than Canon City.”
Unfortunately, jails in Colorado don’t let you serve a 45 day sentence in 2 hours because they don’t have an overcrowded problem. Apparently, Sheen’s attorney asked jail officials to lift the smoking ban and make an exception for the actor and he was denied. “No special exceptions will be made for him,” an official stated. What does he think this is? Hollywood? However, it is possible Sheen could be placed on a two year probation or go to trial rather than jail. We shall see.
Despite the weeks of speculation Charlie Sheen was moving on from the hit CBS series, Two and a Half Men, this will not be his last season after all. The overpaid actor has had a change of heart and agreed to a new deal for the show, yesterday.
A rep for Sheen spoke on his behalf explaining, “To put a fitting end on the two and one-half months of whirlwind speculation, I’m looking forward to returning to my CBS home on Monday nights.” It was previously reported Sheen wanted this seventh season to be his last. Close friends reported Charlie was ready to make an exit. However, in Sheen’s new contract he is obligated to at least two more seasons.
Before signing a new contract, Sheen’s rep said, “Charlie has done this for seven years. There are new things to do, new challenges. He wants to do more movies, and doesn’t always get the opportunities during the hiatus of the show.” So Sheen had a major change of heart or the money was too good to leave. Bottom line, Charlie is back and Two and a Half Men has at least a couple more years left.
