Britney Spears says that since her breakdown, her life has been worse than a jail sentence – but that she’s slowly healing one day at a time.
“I have really good days, and then I have bad days,” the singer, 26, admits in a new fly-on-the wall, 90-minute documentary, Britney: For The Record, to air in the U.S. Nov. 30 on MTV and in the U.K. Dec. 1 on Sky1.
Struggling to gain control of her life again after her public meltdown earlier this year, she says candidly: “Even when you go to jail, y’know, there’s the time when you’re gonna get out. But in this situation, it’s never ending. It’s just like [the Bill Murray movie] Groundhog Day.”
She adds, “I’m having to pay for it for a really long time.”
Spears was hospitalized for mental evaluation in January, which resulted in her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, being granted sole custody of their sons, Preston and Jayden. Her father, Jamie Spears, also gained legal control over her affairs.

Britney Spears has had to cancel a planned concert performance with Madonna in Miami. She’s done it so that she can spend the run-up to Thanksgiving with her kids. According to sources, Spears was slated to make a guest appearance on the final show of diva Madonna’s American tour on November 26, but the singer has decided to put her kids before her career.
Update:
Britney has been granted custody of her sons, two year old Jayden James and three year old Sean Preston, for the period leading up to their US holiday which falls on the 27th of November.

News just in - the jury could not reach a verdict on Britney’s case and the judge declared the whole thing a mistrial. The jury vote came back ten not guilty, two guilty. Well, that was a waste of time indeed.
Britney had been caught driving without a license last year — and for reasons that are hard to explain, the case made it all the way to trial.
Jurors had spent yesterday deadlocked 10-2 but had been ordered to continue deliberating. She faced a maximum of six months in jail and a $1,000 fine, if convicted of the misdemeanor.
Spears didn’t show up for the entire trial.
Prosecutors could ask for another trial - yeah, sure, that’s what we need - more time to be wasted!

The star singer’s trial on misdemeanor driving without a license took days to reach a courtroom, but it took just a couple of days of testimony before jurors entered deliberations.
After about two hours behind closed doors, the jury has left for the weekend without reaching a verdict. Deliberations are expected to resume Monday morning. The maximum sentence is six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.
